Downloads: Girder Plug-in

We offer a Girder plug-in that allows advanced users to enhance the capabilities of their Streamzap PC Remote. Girder is a third-party shareware program that allows you to create customized macros that are activated when you press a button on your Streamzap PC Remote.

This can be useful if you want to control an obscure program that your Streamzap PC Remote does not already control, or if you would like to use another remote control in conjunction with your Streamzap IR receiver to control your computer. Streamzap is not affiliated with the Girder web site or software. Please direct all questions related to the Girder software to the Promixis forums. In other words:

The Girder plug-in is provided by Streamzap, Inc. “as is” without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of the software is with you, the user. Should this software prove defective, you assume the cost of all necessary servicing, repairs, or correction.

Installation

Warning:  The simple act of installing the Girder plug-in will de-activate the built-in macros that currently allow your Streamzap PC Remote to control various software programs. This plug-in will route all button events to the Girder software, and you will need to configure Girder to control all of your programs.

1. Install the latest version of the Streamzap PC Remote software and driver.

2. Install the latest version of the Girder software.

3. Download the appropriate version of the Girder plug-in (see the list below).

4. Exit and restart Girder if it is currently running.

Uninstall

To uninstall the Streamzap Girder plug-in, simply delete the Streamzap.dll file from the Girder\Plugins\Hardware directory and restart Girder.

  This plug-in supports reading raw infrared data from most other remotes, as well as receiving a named event (e.g. "PLAY", "PAUSE", "STOP") when a button on the Streamzap remote is pressed. This plugin requires Streamzap PC Remote drivers 2.9.7 or later to be installed on your computer.

Important:  All Girder 3.2+ plug-ins should be placed in the Girder\Plugins directory, and not in the Girder\Plugins\Hardware directory as with previous versions of the plug-in.
