Couch potatoes, rejoice! The Streamzap PC Remote is a full-featured IR remote control for your PC that communicates with a USB IR receiver plugged into your computer. A simple installation program, coupled with an excellent on-screen tutorial, will have you running in under 5 minutes. Unlike its 15-button competitor from Keyspan, the PC Remote has 35 keys, 3 of which can launch your favorite programs. HardwareCentral

Hardware CentralWant to kick back and relax, enjoying an MP3 playlist or DVD movie on your PC without sitting at attention in front of the keyboard? Want to stroll around the room while giving a PowerPoint presentation, or just step aside to give your audience a better view of your notebook LCD? Want a simple device that does what it promises and is priced low enough to be an impulse buy? The Streamzap PC Remote is $40.

This infrared remote control, advertised to work over 40 feet away from its USB receiver (we managed only about 30, not because of the hardware but because of walls blocking further line-of-sight retreat from our PC), is a poor man's partial substitute for a Windows XP Media Center PC: It works with your favorite multimedia applications, from Windows Media Player, Winamp, and MusicMatch Jukebox to—assuming you have the proper hardware—your DVD playback and TV tuner software letting you select, play, pause, and mute or adjust the volume of music or video tracks without touching your keyboard and mouse.

If you spend more time changing songs on the PC than entertaining guests, this remote is for you. I will definately be obtaining one for my own personal use. I originally thought it would be a cute toy but it quickly became a necessity. Watch your friends' faces light up when you start controlling your PC from across the room. “WOW! How did you do that?!”

I really loved the fact I no longer had to sit at my PC desk to do all my multimedia tasks & could do all this from the comfort of my sofa. Any HTPC or multimedia enthusiast will love this product and is a must have item to add to their list.

At first I thought this product would only be suited to those who are just lazy. But after using this remote control for an hour or two it's suprising how much of a must have item this is, with it's many features and ease of use—once used, you will never go back to the conventional way of controlling all your multimedia.

HTPC users will be overjoyed with this entry into the PC remote sector. The Streamzap retails at around $40 which makes it affordable and almost a impulse buy item. With the ability to control hundreds of programs and simulated mouse control there has never been a more compelling reason to stay on the couch.
