Who is Streamzap?

Established in 2000, Streamzap, Inc. develops hardware and software that make it easy to integrate PC-based content such as music and videos into our work and play. The company delivers this technology to tech savvy youth and PC enthusiasts in the form of its flagship Streamzap PC Remote. The product is sold through established relationships with several channel and OEM partners, led by Fry's Electronics, J&R, Amazon.com, ThinkGeek, Buy.com, TigerDirect, and many international resellers.

What is the Streamzap PC Remote?

The Streamzap PC Remote enables tech savvy youth and PC enthusiasts to control MP3s, DVDs, Internet Radio, and even PowerPoint presentations using a remote control instead of a keyboard.

What is the benefit of remote control versus keyboard?

If you have MP3s, you can relax anywhere and skip songs, change volume, mute, pause, even load your favorite albums and playlists. Instead of having to be in front of your machine, Streamzap does it all with the touch of a button on your PC remote control. If you enjoy downloading music or listening to Internet Radio stations, you can adjust volume, hit mute to answer the phone, or switch stations with a single click of the remote. The Streamzap PC Remote is compatible with all of the popular multimedia programs such as Windows Media Player, iTunes, RealPlayer, Winamp, PowerPoint, MusicMatch Jukebox, and many more.

Can I also control other applications?

Absolutely. The Streamzap PC Remote can control over 150 different applications. You can watch movies on your PC without having to leave the couch to pause, fast-forward or rewind. You can even roam the room and interact with your audience during a PowerPoint presentation.

Does it work with the Mac platform?

Currently, the Streamzap PC Remote is Microsoft Windows compatible only. However, we're following the Apple market closely as it relates to digital music, and don't rule anything out for the future.

Does it work with Linux?

Currently, the Streamzap PC Remote is not officially supported on Linux, however, there is a third-party driver available for download from SourceForge.

How does it work?

The Streamzap PC Remote is simple to set up and easy to use. Just put the batteries in the remote, install the PC Remote software from the installation CD-ROM, and plug in the USB infrared receiver when prompted. Now you're ready to access your favorite MP3s, playlists, movies, and PowerPoint slides at the touch of a button.

Does it work with universal remotes?

What is included in the box?

The all-in-one solution consists of a Streamzap remote, USB infrared receiver, and installation CD-ROM.

What are the system requirements?

  • Microsoft Windows 98, 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP, XP Media Center, or 2003 operating system (32-bit Versions)
  • One available USB port
  • Two AAA batteries (not included)
  • 10MB of hard disk space
  • Pentium 90 CPU or newer and 32MB of RAM

Does the product come with a warranty?

There is a limited one year (12 months) warranty.
